Assistance could even be received to some in need from “Man’s Best Friend”
The areas of Therapy and Mental Health care are ever-changing and challenging as any field of medicine; and this requires adaptability to counter these challenges by any means possible. With the ongoing completion of Mental Health Awareness Week, Bennett states that there is a lot of possibilities and innovative approaches in mental health therapy.
Roseann Bennett, licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and her team that is located within Roseann’s offices of the Center For Assessment and Treatment in Hackettstown, New Jersey, appear to be thinking outside the box in meeting these obstacles head-on; as she has been doing so now for over 10-plus years with her practice.
With this, Ms. Bennett began exploring the possibilities of Canine Assisted Therapy to add to her current tool kit of therapeutic procedures and techniques.
Among many facets of her field, Roseann was inspired with the aspects of Canine Assisted Therapy during in-home visits over the years for therapy sessions in various residencies within the New Jersey area. She was particularly intrigued upon observations with the way dogs and their human companions seemed deeply intertwined in a most symbiotic fashion; that may have roots going back possibly 50,000 years or so, according to many within the fields of anthropology. Thus, a new member recently joined Roseann and her team, whom is indeed a canine known as Jack. Jack is currently listed as a Certified Therapy Dog; with certification achieved this year on July 4th. Although Jack’s services will be limited at this time; as the program is still in its infancy, the addition of Jack seems to display just how far Roseann Bennett will go to provide options for clients that visit her center for assistance.
